Primoris Services Corporation is hiring Skilled Road Carpenters in Abilene, TX.
Project Start Date: February 2026
Job Description The Carpenter constructs, erects, installs, fabricates, dismantles, and repairs structures, formwork and fixtures of wood, metal forms and associated accessories. This position is hands‑on and field‑based, focusing on forming and framing concrete structures used in highways, bridges, and municipal infrastructure.
Qualifications Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Select type and size of related materials according to job specifications. Study plans to identify required lumber, fiberboard, or other materials and dimensions. Prepare layouts, mark cutting lines, and shape materials to prescribed measurements. Construct forms and chutes for pouring concrete. Assemble cut and shaped materials and fasten together. Fabricate, load, haul, and carry materials to the job site and install per drawings, sketches, or plans. Place and finish concrete in formwork and set and align form panels. Set grout forms for epoxy and cement grout.
Physical and Safety Requirements Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (assistance recommended for heavier loads). Work extended hours on foot, including on uneven or rough surfaces. Climb ladders, kneel, crawl, or work at heights and in confined spaces.
Work Environment Location: industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop. Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground, obstructed pathways, low and/or high elevations, confined areas. Climatic/Environmental Conditions: outdoor climate, extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, noise from tools and machinery, potential exposure to chemical substances.
