Job Summary Responsible for structural maintenance and repair on commercial aircraft types.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate how to use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment

Ability to use manuals such as AMM, SRM, and IPC on how to perform work

Ability to look up HazMat information and locate appropriate risk level and required PPE for use

Ability to measure damage using applicable tools (machinist scale, dial calipers, depth gauge, micrometer)

Ability to record length, width, and original thickness

Job Specifications

Experience reading and interpreting Boeing and Airbus drawings

Reading and understanding aircraft technical documentation, task cards

EWIS Protection - Cover and protect wiring and components

Ability to repair:

Wing planks

Skins

Door corners

Wing spars

Horizontal & Wing leading-edge

Seat Tracks

Floor beams

Frames

Drilling holes in aircraft structure attaching brackets, hinges, braces, and clips

Locating, drilling, and installing panels

Corrosion removal techniques

Allowable damage evaluation

Use of torque wrenches and calibrated measuring tools

Knowledge of ATA chapters

Working in confined spaces and working at height

Additional functions as outlined by OJT sheet

Working Environment Under the general direction of a supervisor. Performs duties with general instructions and some discretion in selecting among a few options; assignment is usually reviewed on completion. A moderate level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain effective relationships with co-workers and supervision. Requires mobility around aircraft sections and the dexterity to remove and replace parts in a timely manner. Must be able to work long hours, stay focused, and manage safety risk. The role requires standing for extended periods, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and regular attendance.

Job Qualifications Education:

High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred:

24 months commercial A/C maintenance experience. A&P license or specialized training.
