Description Team Fishel , the Best Choice Employer in the Utility Construction and Network Installation business, is hiring CAD Drafters for our Professional Services Group in Phoenix, AZ to support ongoing Telecommunication projects. Under general supervision, this position creates underground and aerial construction drawings for utility installations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Proficiency in AutoCAD, base-mapping, fundamental knowledge of Outside Plant buried and aerial design including running line selection, manholes/handholes locations, conduit, innerduct, microduct and cable design for fiber optics along with make-ready engineering and poles
Experience in Outside Plant utility designs, public right-of-way, private easements, researching existing utilities such as water, sewer, electric, gas
Knowledgeable in city, county, state and local municipalities encroachment permits and specialty permits (e.g., UPRR, Caltrans, Forest Service, BLM), easement, right of way and various environmental permits are highly desired
Must be able to interact with the local municipalities, Telco engineers and construction/maintenance forces to acquire OSP Records, existing utility information, ICGS, Assessor Maps, map info, AIS and Construction Prints, and to research recorded documents independently
Site surveys, translating field notes to develop and update conduit/ cable engineering design drawings in AutoCAD
Experience Desired
Experience reading blueprints, conduit prints and construction drawings
1+ year experience using AutoCAD
Self-motivated with strong time management skills
Ability to communicate effectively
