The

Mechanic III

is responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and vehicles. This position supports and works with personnel within various departments. Responsibilities

Inspect and repair company/utility equipment, such as pickup trucks, line trucks, trailers, mini excavators, digger dericks, backhoes, compressors, and generators, in a safe, timely, and cost effective manner. Troubleshoot deisel and gas engines Perform road tests and operational checks of vehicles and equipment to ensure quality of repairs and service. Place orders for required parts, materials and supplies, as required. Prepare and maintain records and reports. Monitor prioritized projects, activities, and assignments to ensure completion of deadlines. Maintain tools, supplies, and workstations in a clean, safe and presentable manner. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned. Qualifications

Minimum MUST HAVE OWN TOOLS; 1/4" up to 2" High school diploma, or equivalent. Valid driver\'s license. CDL class A/B or ability to receive within 90 days of employment. 5 years of experience. Knowledge of vehicle and equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and diagnostics. Knowledge of safety guidelines and procedures. Ability to do tune-ups, engine work, hydraulic work, cylinder replacing, pressure setting for backhoe, basic engine repair, and electric repair. Basic diesel and drive train experience. Ability to use cutting torch and basic welding skills. Knowledge of minor heavy equipment repairs. Ability to work in inclement weather Ability to work schedule M - F; 7am - 5:30pm Preferred

6 or more years of experience. DOT Certified Flagger. CDL Class A license. Formal education or training in mechanical equipment repair. Air brake certification. Physical Demands and Work Environment

This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships. Precise hand-eye coordination. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
