Summary/Objective The Fire Protection Sprinkler Foreman is responsible for the day-to-day activities of assigned personnel on the assembly, installation and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures for fire protection sprinkler systems. In addition to supervisory responsibility, this position is that of a working Fire Protection Sprinkler Foreman, responsible for directly performing a wide range of skilled fire protection construction tasks.

Responsibilities

The Fire Protection Sprinkler Foreman manage labor and materials to ensure the assigned tasks meet or beat budgets for each

Tracks hours and manpower on all tasks

Provides training in areas needing improvements to ensure quality, production, and safety

Responsible for performing a wide range of skilled construction tasks

Attends, as needed, all job site and office meetings related to assigned projects

Interprets company policy for workers and enforces safety regulations

Provides guidance and direction to crews in meeting budgets and project schedule

Ability to manage the fire protection installation team, including sprinkler fitters and helpers on the job site

Ability to interpret blueprints and architectural drawings

Responsible for installation of wet, cpvc, and steel systems in commercial and industrial buildings

Plans work to make the most efficient use of assigned manpower and other resources

Inspects work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance to contract and specification

Maintains appropriate documentation for the work performed

Demonstrate positive team work and ability to be a team leader and mentor

Maintains a clean and safe work environment

Completes projects in a timely manner while providing the highest standard of quality work and customer satisfaction

Performs other duties as assigned

Required

3+ years of experience in Fire Sprinkler Installation field; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience

1+ years of experience as a Fire Protection Sprinkler Foreman running crews on heavy commercial construction projects

Knowledgeable with NFPA 13 and all codes

Proven ability to effectively manage and lead teams of 8 to 10 individuals, ensuring high productivity, team cohesion, and successful project outcomes

Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills

Must adhere to all company policy and procedures

Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned

Work Environment

May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness

May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels

May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust

May be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights

Physical Demands

This role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools

While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs

Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms

Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus

Travel

May require travel (typically not overnight)

Preferred

3+ years of experience as a Fire Protection Sprinkler Foreman running crews on commercial construction projects

Prior experience as a Fire Protection Sprinkler fitter/installer

Prior military experience

HS diploma or GED equivalent
