Based in Southern California near Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group includes Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS), and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Scope The CNC Machinist III will be responsible for set up and operations of CNC Mill and Lathe machines used in manufacturing and fabrication of aircraft/military components.
Responsibilities
Strong focus on SAFETY FIRST. Able to use the latest technology in 5-axis with focus on “Lights out machining” (probing, break detection, etc.). Knowledge of fixturing and tooling design. Editing in MDI, preferred with Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, Siemens controllers. Set-up tools and prove out CNC programs as needed. Strong communication skills; wear PPE at all times. Utilize ERP system to accurately record labor hours and production quantity. Suggest recommendations to Leads/Supervisor concerning process improvements. Perform standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, speeds and feeds of machining. Understanding of lean, Kaizen and 6S concepts. Performs routine daily maintenance and housekeeping duties. Can-do attitude; continuous improvement.
Skills / Requirements
Is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. Must lift and/or move up to 35 pounds to chest level. Occasionally must lift up to 25 pounds over the head. Ability to hear. Ability to use inspection instruments. Blueprint reading. Must be able to speak/read/write English. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. Safety Shoes and Safety Glasses required at all times. Must have 5+ years experience in CNC Machining 3-4-5 axis; CNC programming background preferred. Must have a high school Diploma or GED equivalent.

Manufacturing and/or Machining environment Fast paced, with people and parts movement Moderate to medium noise level Exposed to a combination of potential odors from chemicals and/or processes Physically demanding Use of Personal Protective Equipment required
