Heavy Equipment Mechanic
at our location in
West Valley City, Utah . The Mechanic will perform service and repairs on truck-mounted vacuum equipment, including troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Position Summary
Under the direction of the Service Manager, a Mechanic will perform service and repair procedures on truck-mounted vacuum equipment both in the shop and in the field. This position requires travel to make field service and repair calls from time to time and to attend any required training. The work related to the chassis is limited to performing routine PM inspections and requirements for fuels, fluids, and lubrication. Essential Functions
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics Perform all scheduled PM inspections of chassis, vacuum body, hydraulic, electrical, air and water systems Conduct repairs within DOT or OEM standards and service to return rental equipment “Ready to Rent” status Perform and document “check in” and “check out” inspections of fleet equipment Maintain and organize shop and storage areas, ensuring proper storage of flammable items Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Solid understanding of the function, operation, and maintenance of truck-mounted vacuum equipment (preferred) Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data, drawings, and schematics Ability to administer DOT inspections Basic computer skills Organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent communication and teamwork skills Self-motivation, accountability, and timeliness Own and supply a basic set of hand tools; the company provides all large and specialized tools Education And Experience
High School Diploma or GED Minimum three (3) years of verifiable experience as a mechanic Experience with truck-mounted vacuum equipment preferred Relocation
