Minimum of 2 years of collections experience High School Diploma or equivalent Must be at least 21 years of age Responsibilities
Contact delinquent members to discuss overdue accounts Develop repayment solutions and negotiate payment arrangements Maintain accurate records of collection activities Adhere to all legal and regulatory guidelines Update member accounts and ensure data accuracy Collaborate with internal teams to resolve member inquiries and issues Provide exceptional member service with empathy and professionalism Evaluate members’ financial situations to determine appropriate solutions Analyze credit histories and make informed recommendations Recommend loan modifications or other financial solutions Provide detailed explanations of payment options to members Monitor payment plans and follow up as necessary Assist in the recovery of collateral, if required Utilize communication skills to negotiate and persuade Document all communication and actions taken Provide timely and accurate reports to supervisors Participate in training sessions to stay updated on regulations Collaborate with legal and compliance teams when necessary Identify trends and suggest process improvements Achieve monthly collection targets Ensure confidentiality and data security Participate in team meetings and share insights Continuously improve knowledge of collection practices Represent the credit union with integrity and professionalism Contribute to a positive team environment Back up teller line – with a drawer as needed Skills & Knowledge
Strong negotiation and communication skills Understanding of collection regulations and practices Empathy and patience when dealing with members in financial distress Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Ability to work well independently and within a team Proficiency in relevant computer software and applications Training Location
