FleeTec Academy

is a paid educational program that leads to becoming one of our full‑time Diesel & Trailer Technicians. We pay you to go through our program, give you free education on fundamentals of diesel engines and how to fix trucks, along with a set of hand tools. You must be willing to study hard for 4 weeks of full‑time schooling at our Academy Campus. Travel expenses are paid by us, along with hotel accommodation and stipend for meals, plus a weekly paycheck. Upon completion of the initial classroom phase, you will be paired with a Lead Technician in your market for further hands‑on training and offered a full‑time job with us.

Program Highlights:

4 weeks paid classroom training; all travel expenses paid.

Free technical education.

Further hands‑on training by an experienced technician and a full‑time job as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic.

Mobile technicians are assigned state‑of‑the‑art vehicles to perform preventive maintenance and general repairs onsite.

Real pay rates that allow you to pay rent and a predefined pathway for raises.

Pay Details:

$12.99/h (or state minimum wages, whichever is greater) + $250/week stipend (taxed).

$19/h after that for 6 weeks.

Second class for 4 weeks at Indy at $19/h + $250/week (taxed).

Plus $1/h upon graduation.

What You Bring To The Table:

Desire to start a career as a Diesel & Trailer Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.

Willingness and ability to study hard.

Dedication to spend four weeks away from home for training.

Maturity to focus on the task at hand; this is not a summer camp.

Technical aptitude and passion for fixing vehicles.

Ability to operate an iPad.

A high‑school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.

Background checks, driving records checks, pre‑employment drug testing and physical are required.

Must comply with DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.

Current and valid DOT medical card with at least four months remaining may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical; otherwise a DOT physical is required.

Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate operating authority regulations.

Safe driver required; 3‑year MVR review required. Must hold a valid state‑of‑residence driver’s license and maintain a Driver Qualification File.

Compensation:

Hourly base pay rate is $14.71 – $22.02 per hour, depending on location and candidate qualifications. Position may be eligible for additional compensation such as commission and an incentive program.
