Job Summary:
SUNY Upstate
is seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Child Life Specialist-Level 2
to be part of
Upstate's Pediatric Child Life Team
working within the
Upstate Pediatric Cancer Center.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide developmental and psychosocial support for pediatric patients and families.
Assess children's developmental and coping needs.
Provide preparation, age appropriate diversion andmotional support to minimize distress associated with hospitalization and/or medical encounters.
Collaborates as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Child Life or related field with a minimum of 2 years paid Child Life work experience.
Current Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential required.
Excellent written/oral communication, leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Child Life or related field preferred.
Work Days: Monday - Friday, Days
