Job Summary: Copper Roots is seeking a skilled and highly motivated CAD Technician to join our transmission line design team in Austin or Fort Worth, TX. In this role, you will perform drafting and design tasks for overhead transmission line projects. The ideal candidate will have at least one (1) year of experience in transmission line drafting with voltages ranging from 69kV to 345kV. Key Responsibilities: Utilize AutoCAD and/or MicroStation to prepare transmission line drawings, including: Plan and Profile Drawings Structure Loading and Dimension Drawings Structure Assembly Drawings Material Assembly Drawings Foundation Drawings Additional drawings as required to support procurement and construction packages Revise CAD drawings per engineering markups. Develop knowledge of internal and client-specific drafting specifications. Effectively communicate and coordinate with project team members on the status of projects. Flexibility to engage in either design or drafting work as required on the project. Willingness to work with and mentor additional drafting staff. Ensure overall quality of drawings and design tasks through attention to detail and adherence to quality procedures. Contribute to knowledge sharing activities. Foster company culture. Required Qualifications: Associate’s degree or certificate in computer-aided design (CAD) technology. Proficiency with AutoCAD. Proficiency with MS Office software. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: At least one (1) year of experience in transmission line drafting. Experience with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE. Experience with MicroStation. Familiarity with transmission line materials, structures, and foundations. Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NESC, ASCE, IEEE, etc.). Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
