We manage housing programs and services that support our residents in achieving long‑term stability, health, and independence.

Position Summary

The Employment Readiness Specialist (ERS) will work closely with CCP participants to strengthen life skills, identify career interests, and connect with employment and educational opportunities. By building relationships with local employers, training programs, and community partners, the ERS will create pathways to sustainable employment while fostering participant growth, confidence, and independence.

Core Responsibilities

Serve as a peer support and mentor to CCP participants, creating a safe, affirming, and motivating space for young adults as they explore career and life goals.

Provide life skills coaching, including time management, financial literacy, communication skills, problem‑solving, and decision‑making.

Build partnerships with employers, schools, training providers, and community organizations to expand employment readiness opportunities.

Facilitate workshops and one‑on‑one coaching sessions focused on resumes, interviewing, workplace readiness, and soft skills development.

Coordinate internships, job shadowing, paid work experiences, and vocational training placements for participants.

Conduct assessments to determine employment readiness, life skills proficiency, educational needs, and areas for growth.

Collaborate with participants to develop individualized education, employment, and life skills development plans.

Maintain accurate and timely case notes, progress updates, and reporting in alignment with CCP’s program requirements.

Represent CCP in community forums, presentations, and employer engagement activities to expand opportunities for participants.

Model resilience, professionalism, and accountability, empowering participants through lived experience and peer‑based mentorship.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or Associate’s Degree in a human services field, with at least two years of related work experience.

Experience working with young adults, preferably in a peer support, workforce development, or mentoring capacity.

Demonstrated ability to coach or teach life skills that support independence and workplace success.

Strong relationship‑building skills with both participants and community partners.

Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications required.

Valid NC or SC Driver’s License required.
