AboutAchievement Behavior Care (ABC) Services: ABC Services is an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy agency providing personalized home-based direct services to students with the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). We are seeking an early-afternoon ABA Behavior Technician to join our network of ABA professionals. This Behavior Technician must be available to provide ABA services for studentsfor 2 or 3 hours a day M-F)

between the hours of3 and 8PM

Logistics about our Whitestone Case (one of many queens based cases): 10 y/o Male Student Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3-5 and Saturday 1-5PM Whitestone, Queens Behavior Technician Tasks: Measure, assess, and document skill acquisition of student's progress on the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP)

1:1 Goal-oriented, in home, direct service work with a student involving implementation of ABA approaches including but not limited to discrete trial teaching, prompting, modeling, redirection, reinforcements, and reward-systems.

Thorough and comprehensive session-to-session documentation, data analysis, and billing.

Actively engaging with clinical direction and professional feedback from BCBA supervisor(s)

Communicate effectively and respectfully with clients or students, caregivers, supervisors, and coworkers

In the Behavior Technician role, you will work directly, one-on-one, with the child in their natural, home environment.

You will be supported by a lead, board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) while you move through the individualized Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) that was scribed to help the student experience increased success in communication, focus, and positively adapting behaviors. According to this BIP, daily, you will collect numerical and qualitative data on these goals. The charted progress will be used to create new, personalized interventions and goals as the relationship with the student progresses from month-to-month.

Expectations of a Behavior Technician: Study patient behavior and apply Applied Behavior Analysis principles

Respond appropriately to different situations common among patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder and others with behavioral and developmental challenges

Utilize key communication skills to provide effective feedback to patients

Effectively communicate positive feedback to patients

Be able to recognize and respond to critical improvements in patient behaviors.

Become familiar with and use behavioral redirection techniques

Know how to respond to negative behaviors appropriately

Provide written documentation on each patient.

Taking initiative to actively seek clinical direction from supervisor when support is needed

Respectful and consistent communication with all stakeholders including, but not limited to client caregivers and students, supervisors, and coworkers

Engaging in bidirectional feedback loops with professional attitude

The Qualifications of a Behavior Technician Multilingual is a plus to expand the case options open to you

Relevant Fields of Study: Applied Behavior Analysis, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Therapy, psychology, special education

Helpful Certifications: Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

Strong stakeholder communication skills required

Ability to be adaptable under high-stress situations

Exhibits professional administrative reliability: punctuality and responsiveness

Proven experience working with pre-school and elementary school-aged children

Additional evidence of successful work with patients suffering from Autism and development issues

Other experience, certificates, or qualifications as required by NY State.

Intuitive, engaging, compassionate, and person-centered approaches

Proven experience with documenting progress notes and data points aligning with individualized treatment plans and goals

Engaging and adaptive play skills
