Job Description
We’re looking for a reliable and dedicated individual to join our manufacturing team, working in the Shipping and Receiving department.

Key Responsibilities
Knowledge of business practices and concepts as well as basic computer skills that include but are not limited to MAS 500, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word computer programs.
Communicating and working well with others, even when under pressure, and maintaining accurate records and/or files. Notify the purchasing department of shortages that prevent meeting shipment deadlines – either by phone, e-mail, or both.
Prepare orders to ship using various methods, including both domestic and international orders. Select appropriate shipping packages; pack items into shipping containers and label/address using computer programs. Provide customer service with tracking numbers that may help trace lost shipments. Provide documented signatures for proof of delivery of shipments utilizing computer hardware.
Quote shipment freight charges for sales departments at all SII plant locations.
Be able to read detailed information from tank drawings which are available via a computer program.
Check items to be shipped against customer orders to ensure that components, quantities, destinations, and mode of freight handling are correct.
Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slip of purchase order to verify accuracy of shipments; help process customer return orders. This may involve operating a pallet jack, hand dolly, and/or forklift in loading and unloading materials.
Inspect shipments for damage or defects; record discrepancies or damages and notify the supervisor and/or purchasing department of the same.
Conduct cycle counts of inventory levels as needed when stock discrepancies are discovered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent; a valid driver’s license is required.
Commercial shipping experience: 3 years or more required.
Mathematical aptitude a plus, including using an electronic weighing scale.
Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers/quantities.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate power tools. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
Work may involve exposure to external elements such as heat, cold, and rain along with minimal exposure to noise, dust, vapors, and other elements. However, no one element is continuously present to the extent of being undesirable.
