All CDC recommended vaccines are required vaccinations at Oaklawn. Seasonally, and upon determination of Senior leadership, the Influenza Vaccine may be mandatory; in those years, compliance is required. For all vaccines, Religious Exemptions and Medical Contraindications are available.
Job Summary:
Provides support, coordination and facilitation for release of information within Oaklawn. Responsibilities include the release of information, distribution of patient records, birth certificate and paternity affidavit completion. Essential Functions: Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives. Works directly with customers (patients, insurance companies, physician offices, etc.). Maintains and works the Report Request Distribution Queue. Processes failed auto-fax documents. Investigates and corrects duplicate medical record numbers. Performs any necessary mail outs for HIM. Identifies and processes release of information requests. Investigates and resolves problems or complaints related to ROI. Completes Birth Certificates and paternity affidavits, when needed. Assists with projects related to HIM functions. Assists with other HIM related processes, i.e. deficiency analysis, scanning, etc. Assists physicians, offices and staff with all HIM related questions. Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or the equivalent. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and release of information laws and guidelines. Knowledge of computers and misc. software, electronic medical records and registry process; skilled in interpersonal relationships and customer service. Working knowledge of identified registry functions. Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding. Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements pertaining to HIM and Release of Information. Able to work accurately under stress with the interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with personnel, visitors, patients and outside offices. Working Conditions:
Work is generally performed in an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Physical Requirements:
