Community Engagement and Scholar Recruiter Join Capital Preparatory Charter Schools as a Community Engagement & Scholar Recruiter. This role is a school-based position reporting directly to the Executive Director of Network Operations and focuses on building community relationships and recruiting scholars to enroll in the school.

We serve students in grades K–12 across four locations: Harlem, NY; Bronx, NY; Bridgeport, CT (two sites). Our approach blends proven academic models with innovative strategies to ensure 100% of graduates are accepted to four‑year colleges.

Base Pay Range $20.00/hr – $25.00/hr

Responsibilities

Provide strategies for developing and strengthening parent and family involvement at school and district levels.

Identify communication gaps with families and develop/community outreach strategies with school staff.

Organize and attend community events on behalf of the school.

Attend recruitment fairs; prepare marketing materials; coordinate staff and volunteers.

Coordinate with the Operations team for open houses, shadow days, student tours, and Admissions Celebration events.

Represent the school during family meetings, workshops, and open house events.

Compile and maintain a community partnership directory; keep regular contact with schools, organizations, and community-based groups.

Gather, analyze, and share family and community feedback with leadership to develop community-based initiatives.

Support the Athletic Coordinator with outreach for new scholars, venue coordination for sports events, and coach recruitment.

Support the enrollment process: notify families when the school receives their application via email, letter, or phone call.

Assist families with completing applications.

Conduct ongoing outreach to applicants and families; extend seat offers after the lottery and manage the waitlist.

Ensure reliable transportation between campuses and to community events and meetings.

Perform duties as directed by leadership.

Main Office / Administrative

Support main office as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

1–2 years of experience in customer service or admissions.

Fluency in Spanish preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail.

Experience with admissions software or database is ideal.

Compensation This position has a twelve-month work year and is a part-time, non‑exempt role requiring travel, evenings, and weekends. Hourly wage is competitive and commensurate with experience; the role is limited to 20 hours per week.

Weekend or evening work and travel is required.
