Job Description The primary role for this Tooling Technician position is to perform equipment tear downs, diagnose, maintain, and facilitate the repair of injection molds and associated equipment. The technician will perform preventive maintenance and complete assigned tasks to ensure consistent quality and to minimize production downtime. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, physical endurance, attention to detail, and the ability to work well with others. This position requires operation of forklift and overhead crane rigging.
Qualifications
High school diploma
2 years in tool and die work or injection mold maintenance (plastics injection molding - not metals)
Strong understanding of machining practices related to mold industry (plastics)
Basic electrical knowledge
Ability to maintain focus while multitasking projects
Basic knowledge of mold metals and application and repair methods
Hydraulic build and repairs (hydraulic hoses, cylinders)
Basic Microsoft Office
Role
Responsible for following work instructions and company safety standards
Receive and send reports daily (Microsoft Outlook)
Troubleshoot problems by critical thinking and discussing with management
Collaborate with engineering team to solve tooling issues
Disassemble, clean, and reassemble plastic injection molds
Laser weld and bench mold components
Diagnose and repair hot runner systems
Inspect components utilizing precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometer, etc.)
