JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain relationships with organizations and agencies across Ohio that serve children/youth with developmental disabilities/special healthcare needs and their families. Develop relationships with families in rural areas of the state, as well as with families who experience health disparities. Educate, support, and supervise family members as community-based liaisons to programs and services. Connect families with our peer-to-peer support program as support parents or parents seeking support. Connect family members/caregivers with the appropriate local, state, and national resources and services. Develop and provide trainings/workshops for parents on navigating services and supports. Work with internal and external partners, including individuals with disabilities, family members, professionals. Accurately report and track activities in various systems and databases. JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as human services, counseling, social work, special education, or equivalent and 3-5 years of work experience in the field. Knowledge and skills in family support, navigating Ohio’s developmental disability and other service systems, and family advocacy. Available for 20 hrs./week (0.5 FTE), mostly daytime hours (Mon-Fri). Some in-office hours required. Position is a hybrid position. Statewide travel and some evening/weekend hours are required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bi-lingual English/Spanish. Excellent understanding of Ohio waivers and Medicaid for children with disabilities/special healthcare needs. Trained in Charting the LifeCourse framework and tools. Experience with family education and peer-to-peer support. Trained/educated in trauma-informed care and/or conflict resolution/mediation. Primary Location
