Senior Mortgage Loan Officer

Description The Senior Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans, pre-qualifying customers' creditworthiness and ability to repay, and servicing these loans to meet or exceed the Bank's credit quality, profitability, growth, and service objectives. The role also involves referring customers to appropriate bankers for cross-selling products and services. Create, develop, and maintain relationships with referral and industry sources to maximize mortgage loan volume and meet profitability goals. Interface with borrowers to gather complete and accurate loan applications, analyze financial conditions, evaluate collateral acceptability, and assess repayment capacity. Set expectations with borrowers regarding the loan approval process and communicate throughout the loan stages. Respond to customer inquiries, generate leads from contacts and bank channels, and identify referral opportunities for other bank services. Advise applicants on options, explain different mortgage types, and negotiate loan terms. Stay updated on local real estate market conditions and regulatory changes related to mortgages. Position subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. Qualifications: 3-5 years of relevant experience in residential lending, with compliance training and knowledge of real estate laws and FNMA guidelines. Valid driver's license, clean record, reliable transportation, and registration with NMLS required. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, basic math, and following written instructions.
