The Senior Paralegal applies knowledge of real estate processes and its associated procedures to provide fundamental assistance to lawyers.
In this capacity, the Senior Paralegal will:
Perform work in an efficient and cost-effective manner so as to permit the Firm to reasonably collect fees for such work;
Meet expectations of billable hours target of 1,725 (unless otherwise specified);
With minimal attorney supervision, coordinate, organize, prepare and interpret complex transaction documents related to real estate deals matters; build and maintain relevant databases and files; file documents and provide copies to relevant parties;
Organize, review, and maintain documents and due diligence materials; prepare and distribute signature pages; compile and finalize documents and closing binders; create closing checklists;
Review and prepare structure charts, signature pages and determine signatories;
Obtain good standing certificates and certified charter documents, obtain EINs, and notarize documents;
Conduct entity searches, file and/or prepare formation documents, resolutions, consents, notices, qualifications, and dissolutions;
Order and review lien searches and corporate organizational documents;
Prepare and file UCC financing statements;
Assist with closings by preparing and finalizing transactional and legal documents, creating closing binders, updating closing checklists, tracking status updates, preparing signature page packets and coordinating signature pages from various parties;
Prepare distribution of original closing documents to custodian;
Communicate directly with title companies, and other third-party vendors regarding document delivery, corrections, and technical clarifications;
Interact with clients, counterparties, title companies, surveyors, service companies and government agencies;
Direct work and train team members accordingly;
Coordinate with other areas/departments of the Firm where overlap exists to develop efficient procedures/communications to streamline processes and satisfy various department needs;
Work overtime as required; travel as required, and
Handle additional related projects as assigned
