The Housekeeper/Maintenance Assistant will maintain the appearance of the community for the comfort and use of residents, family members, visitors, and employees. Responsibilities include cleaning common areas and residents' apartments according to schedule, responding promptly to repair needs, and maintaining a healthy and attractive environment. Qualifications:
Ability to read, write, and speak English. Desire to work with older adults. Friendly, caring disposition. Must be 18 years of age. Must have a satisfactory criminal history check. Must have a physical exam by a licensed physician. Must have a negative drug screen. Understanding of risks associated with exposure to infectious waste, diseases, chemicals, solutions, and disinfectants. Ability to react appropriately in emergency situations. Primary Responsibilities:
Clean all common areas, including guest restrooms, according to schedule, including vacuuming, dusting, cleaning glass surfaces, disinfecting, mopping, and organizing. Clean residents' rooms/apartments according to schedule, including vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting bathrooms. Respond to resident emergencies following proper policies and procedures. Offer choices, maintain dignity, and promote individuality for all residents. Provide quality service in accordance with Oaks Senior Living philosophy and resident rights. Maintain confidentiality of residents. Obtain 24 hours of continuing education in the initial year of employment and 16 hours annually thereafter. Maintain CPR & First Aid certification. Report supply needs to Maintenance Director. Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs. Prepare resident rooms/apartments for new residents. Ensure residence and grounds are in good repair, safe, and attractive. Regularly inspect and identify repair needs. Assist in preventative maintenance programs. Respond promptly to repair or maintenance requests from residents, family, and staff.
