The Parts Counterperson is responsible for picking up and delivering parts and for executing assigned tasks set by the department manager. This role involves administering internal procedures and reports. Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter staff, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving for last-minute pick-ups or deliveries. Check with the body shop to determine immediate parts needs. Deliver parts to the body shop and distribute parts to technicians. Verify invoice matches purchase order for each pickup. Check payments received against invoices for each delivery. Maintain an accurate log of daily deliveries and pickups, collecting signatures on each entry. Unload deliveries, turn in paperwork, and handle undelivered parts. Perform basic maintenance on delivery truck (refueling, checking oil, organization). Report major repairs or maintenance needs of delivery trucks to the parts manager. Assist the service department with responsibilities such as managing customer car drop-offs and pick-ups. Help stock and post incoming orders to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts. Follow all company safety policies and procedures, reporting any accidents immediately. Possess at least 1+ years of experience as a Parts Counterperson. Demonstrate customer service and phone communication skills. Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent. Be authorized to work in the USA. Pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and possess a valid driver’s license.
