Overview
Open to qualified candidates for an Indiana National Guard Title 5 Excepted Service position as a Military & Family Readiness Specialist.
Applications accepted 11/20/2025 – 12/04/2025. Salary range $61,111 – $80,182 per year (GS‑9).
Duties
Serve as an independent advisor in the geographic area of responsibility to accomplish the Soldier & Family Readiness Program objectives.
Manage the family assistance center and provide support to commands within the area.
Provide training and technical support to Commanders and Family Readiness Liaisons for the Unit Family Readiness Program and SFRGs.
Submit information to support development and budget forecasting for the Soldier & Family Readiness Support Program to higher headquarters.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Manage and support the family assistance center operations.
Provide training and technical support.
Support development and budget forecasting.
Perform duties as assigned.
Requirements
Males born after 31 Dec 1959 must register for Selective Service.
Background investigation required for federal employment suitability.
Probationary period may be required.
Drug test mandatory.
Direct deposit participation required.
Security clearance required.
Possess effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers.
Travel by car, military or commercial aircraft and other transportation may be required.
Overshift hours may be required.
Valid driver’s license required if motor vehicle use.
Qualifications
General Experience: Knowledge of principles of organization, management, administration; experience compiling reports, memoranda; experience providing technical guidance and assistance.
Specialized Experience: At least 1 year specialized experience, equivalent to the next lower grade level; thorough knowledge of administrative procedures.
