Summary
Flatter, Inc. (Flatter) is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Mortgage Clerks (Junior-Level) to join our team in San Antonio, TX supporting the USDA. These roles will provide administrative and clerical support to mortgage operations, with a focus on USDA loan programs and systems. The Mortgage Clerk will assist with documentation, file maintenance, and loan processing activities to ensure smooth and compliant mortgage transactions.
Responsibilities Telecommunication Tasks
Obtain required information from insurance companies via telephone.
Operate within the LoanServ environment to manage loan-related transactions.
LoanServ Processing
Process tasks, post payments, and record payoffs in LoanServ.
Update and maintain insurance information within LoanServ.
Issue payments to insurance companies.
Administrative Tasks
Research loan accounts and provide resolutions to discrepancies.
Perform accurate and timely data entry for mortgage-related transactions.
Program and Claims Support
Provide support for the Single-Family Housing (SFH) Guaranteed Loan Program (GLP).
Process loss claims in accordance with SFH-GLP regulations, policies, and procedures.
Conduct detailed account research and provide analysis to management and customers.
Deliver customer service support to lenders and servicers via email and phone.
Assist with loss claim–related projects supporting the SFH-GLP and the SFH Claims Branch.
Execute all loss claim–related sub-tasks accurately and within required timelines.
Communication and Case Management
Respond to phone calls, voicemails, status inquiries, and emails promptly.
Initiate imaging workflow tasks as needed from centralized SFH-G lender email accounts (SCB and SSB).
Ensure all calls and emails from centralized accounts are addressed per established procedures and service standards.
Bankruptcy Processing
Process Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases.
Maintain and update Form 410A Bankruptcy History documentation.

Requirements Qualifications
Junior Mortgage Clerk (1–3 years’ experience)
1–3 years of clerical, administrative, or financial services experience (mortgage/loan experience preferred).
Prior exposure to USDA loan programs or systems highly desirable.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data entry systems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Security Requirements
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required
Ability to obtain and maintain NACIC background investigation
