Job Summary Responsible for daily operation of an asphalt production plant, including safety, compliance, and quality control.

Main Responsibilities

Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams

Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies

Ensure the highest standards are achieved and maintained in terms of safety, quality, and efficiency

Effectively coordinate the day-to-day work environment and staff to ensure safety, regulatory, and production targets are met

Actively support and lead Company initiatives related to safety and employee development

Assist with training, coaching and development of employees to perform at their highest level

Maintain effective relationships with internal/external customers, suppliers, and Company business groups

Effectively communicate in a professional manner in person, over the phone, and on company radio channels

Establish plant production schedules to meet supply, schedule, and delivery needs

Use computer system to enter and maintain data, manage schedules, prepare reports, and respond to e-mail correspondence

Batch and inspect loads to ensure consistency of mix

Coordinate scheduling of plant equipment maintenance

Order and maintain inventory of raw materials supply

Safely operate company equipment, tooling, and vehicles as needed

Skills

3 or more years of experience in asphalt production operations and/or related role

2 or more years of experience in a supervisory role preferred

Self-directed, results-oriented, and highly motivated, requiring minimal direct guidance

Ability to lead and motivate others; prior experience effectively managing a team preferred

Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, problem-solve, and work under consistent pressure of deadlines

Basic computer skills, including use of MS Office products

Valid drivers’ license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record required; Class B commercial license preferred (Required)

Physical Requirements

Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance

Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel

Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)

Frequently required to stand; walk across uneven terrain; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and heavy machinery

Occasionally required to work from heights

Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions and loud noise; including some exposure to fumes or airborne particles
