Youth Prevention Specialist (School-Based)
Compensation: $31.80 Required Qualifications: POSITION: Youth Prevention Education Facilitator LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA SCHEDULE: 40 hours/week | Standard school schedule COMPENSATION: $31.80/hour CONTRACT TERM: Ongoing contract assignment through June 30, 2026 , with strong potential for extension or permanent hire POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our leading nonprofit client is committed to ending the cycle of domestic violence through its school-based program. This program supports students, families, and school communities by addressing the impact of trauma and violence through counseling, prevention education, peer leadership, and community engagement. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Youth Prevention Education Facilitator to deliver trauma-informed prevention education across Los Angeles County schools. This individual will work directly with 4th, 7th, and 9th grade students to promote healthy relationships and provide support through group-based and school-wide activities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate evidence-based violence prevention curriculum to 4th, 7th, and 9th grade students at designated school sites Create safe, inclusive classroom environments that foster trust and student engagement Support school-wide prevention initiatives including topical workshops, anti-violence campaigns, and Peer Leadership activities Assist with implementing district-level deliverables at non-Margaret’s Place (MP) sites Provide coverage for prevention services at assigned MP schools when needed Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with privacy laws and organizational policies Participate in weekly programmatic and administrative supervision Contribute to program evaluation through on-site data collection and reporting Attend professional development and training opportunities to enhance skills and effectiveness Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Prevention Education Facilitation REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Education, or a closely related field Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Creative, proactive, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to collaborate with diverse school teams and community stakeholders Proficient in Microsoft Office and other digital tools Commitment to ethical, professional behavior and trauma-informed practices ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
