Duties include implementing curriculum with fidelity, acting as a liaison between all parties, providing services to meet the needs of members, conducting prevention activities, providing quality programming, safety, and being a positive role model. This position will be officing in Arlington or Fort Worth. Description

The Prevention Specialist is responsible for participation, prevention curriculum, prevention activities, administrative duties, facility and child safety, and administrative compliance. Duties include implementing curriculum with fidelity, acting as a liaison between all parties, providing services to meet the needs of members, conducting prevention activities, providing quality programming, safety, and being a positive role model. This position will be officing in Arlington or Fort Worth.
The Prevention programs offer evidence-based curriculum to members in our Clubs and community settings throughout the year to equip children and teens to engage in positive behaviors.
This opportunity is expected to last until
8/31/2026.
While this is currently for a temporary role, please note that the duration of your employment may be extended or, based on the BGCGTC's needs and funding, the role may potentially become a permanent position. However, we cannot provide any guarantee regarding the length of the assignment or the possibility of a future permanent employment offer.
Should you accept an offer of temporary employment, please be aware that your position will be "at will" at all times. This means that either you or the BGCGTC can end the employment relationship at any time, for any reason or no reason at all, including during the specified time period. Participation
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Accountable for recruiting and enrolling eligible youth into program Accountable for meeting participation goals and objectives
Prevention Curriculum
Accountable for acting as liaison between target schools, organization staff, and program staff Accountable for providing services and activities to meet the needs of enrolled members Accountable for fidelity of curriculum
Prevention Activities
Accountable for conducting prevention activities Accountable for quality programming and activities
Administrative Duties
Accountable for accurate and timely documentation and reporting
Facility And Child Safety
Accountable for adherence to all organizational health and safety policies and implementation of all safety practices and procedures at assigned work location(s) Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect members, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities. Abide by facility maintenance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance Accountable for reporting incidents and completing documentation within the required timeline Maintain discipline, de-escalate conflict between members and/or others Obtain and renew CPR and First Aid certification by deadline
Administrative Compliance
Complete all required reports and administrative duties on time. Collect and manage required data and internal and external reporting. Ensure accuracy of data and reporting. Ensure the effective completion of all assessment and measurement activities of programs Comply with all administrative policies and procedures, processes and controls Accountable for accurate and timely paperwork, reports, and data entry Accountable for utilizing all BGCGTC communication tools regularly and effectively
Relationships
Be a positive role model Maintain emotional control and make good decisions under pressure Represent the Boys & Girls Club in a positive manner
Attendance
Regular attendance is required; arrive on time, work required hours/shift, and leave at scheduled time
Requirements
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
Associate’s Degree (or equivalent hours) from an accredited college or university with 2-3 years of experience in youth development OR a Bachelor's Degree with 1 year of experience working with youth
Minimum Requirements
Ability to work regular program hours with periodic evenings, nights, and weekends Ability to be a positive role model Ability to be patient with youth and adults Ability to facilitate, teach, or instruct Ability to network as well as build and maintain positive relationships Ability to obtain APS and CPS credentials by set deadline Ability to work with at-risk youth Knowledge of technology and software such as tablets, social media, cloud-based tools, and virtual meeting tools Effective organizational skills Knowledge of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification Must be able to pass agency background screens and drug screen at any time Must have reliable transportation, liability insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and a valid driver’s license for the operation of a motor vehicle relevant to carrying out duties
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree Bilingual Work experience with or program knowledge of the Boys & Girls Club Movement (national and/or local Club) is an advantage
Pay & Benefits
Pay: $17.45 hourly Benefits: Eligible for health, vision, and dental coverage; 401(K) plan and flexible spending accounts; life insurance; and short and long-term disability. Paid Time off (PTO) and company-paid holidays.
