Front Counter role responsible for assisting customers at the counter, driving sales, handling Will Call requests, and performing cashier duties with accurate cash handling. Responsibilities
Front Counterpersons are expected to generate a minimum of sales per month. This amount is on the MTD Performance that shows the sales performance of each person. Fill the needs of the customer at the counter. Acknowledge new customers when a line forms and manage expectations about upcoming assistance. Perform “Will Call” tasks when demand from customers exceeds the designated Will Call person’s capability. Do not receive damaged parts or issue credit for a replacement; customers must purchase a new part. When the OEM determines a part is warrantable, the customer will be eligible for a credit. Check and manage own core returns or consult a more seasoned Counterperson if unsure. Serve as cashier for parts sales with accuracy in the cash drawer. Collect a driver’s license from customers using a dolly and return it upon dolly return. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

It is very easy for Front Counterpersons to fall into the role of an “order taker” rather than take each opportunity to sell other products the dealership has to offer. Front Counterpersons are expected to sell products related to the primary part a customer needs. Shared Inside Sales functions
Includes Will Call and Front Counter responsibilities. Cores are not to be sold at exchange. Ensure all pertinent paperwork (invoice, credit card, etc.) is signed during business with the customer. Note relevant information on the invoice (delivery within two hours, PO requirements, core pickup, etc.) to assist with deliveries and meeting customer needs. For parts orders with freight, bill freight immediately after placing the part on a ticket. The Parts Manager may authorize removal. Collect freight payment when the order is placed. 100% down payment for an ordered part is collected at the time of order. Charge a 10% restocking fee to all customers. Make daily calls to assigned accounts; duties may transfer if absent. Return parts to their designated places when returned. Move dirty cores to the designated core area with proper paperwork after acceptance. Move warranty parts to the designated warranty area with proper paperwork after acceptance. Requirements
Stand and walk for up to 4 continuous hours per day Remain seated for up to 4 continuous hours per day Move through the department/dealership for up to 6 continuous hours per day Lift up to 50 lbs Frequently reach, bend, push and pull Ascend/descend stairs and move items up to 25 lbs Ascend/descend a ladder and move up to 10 lbs Move items up to 50 lbs Communicate and exchange accurate information Inspect and recognize Operate a computer Seniority level
