Job Summary The Dishwasher provides support to the school food service program by ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored. This position also assists with general cleaning duties to maintain a safe, healthy, and efficient kitchen environment for students and staff. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor/superintendent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Wash and sanitize all dishes, trays, utensils, and cookware according to established procedures.
Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing area, sinks, counters and floors.
Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food and supply deliveries as directed.
Take out garbage and recycling and ensure kitchen sanitation standards are met.
Support kitchen staff with light food prep or serving duties when needed.
Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations.
Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Strong attention to cleanliness and safety
Dependability and ability to work cooperatively with others
Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
Work Schedule and Compensation Work days follow the school calendar.
Hours: 8 hours available, but will also work with those interested in approximately 3-4 hours daily (lunchtime shifts).
Compensation: Hourly wage per district pay scale.
