Job Description The Foreperson will provide leadership and support at our surface limestone, sand, and gravel mining facilities. This role is critical in ensuring safe, efficient, high‑quality, and environmentally responsible production of aggregate materials. The ideal candidate will multitask, provide quick solutions, and support overall plant operations in the absence of the Plant Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to Core Values and Safety policies.
Promote a team concept and work within it.
Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing daily operations, including production, quality, maintenance, and safety compliance.
Ensure compliance with MSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies.
Support plant personnel and coordinate with equipment operators, mechanics, and quality control teams.
Monitor production output and adjust processes to meet quality and volume targets.
Support preventative maintenance programs and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
Track inventory levels of raw materials and finished products as well as spare parts.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance, and safety inspections.
Act as Plant Manager in their absence.
Education and Experience
Associate or bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or construction management is a plus.
Industry or leadership experience preferred.
Current Ohio Foreman’s license is required.
Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of crushing, screening, and material handling equipment.
Familiarity with MSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and critical‑thinking skills.
Self‑starter with willingness to assist with a variety of tasks.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Good judgment and problem‑resolution skills.
Collaborative, self‑motivated, and diligent.
Work performed outdoors with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Weekend or extended hours may be required.
