Formed in 1993 by the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, Y-Haven has helped thousands recover from addiction, secure permanent housing, and re-build their lives. Y-Haven offers healing and hope. POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for coordinating and/or providing timely and complete repair and preventative maintenance for buildings and equipment, which may involve resolving complex maintenance issues. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs maintenance of building (s), including painting, electrical and general repairs. Resolves complex maintenance problems. Keeps related records. Completes repair projects and minor remodels. Inspects buildings, reports and resolves building problems. Assists Exercise Maintenance Coordinator maintain and repair fitness equipment. Communicate and coordinate repair requests with appropriate staff. Document and report to appropriate branch staff and supervisor any unsafe conditions and correct it according to directions. Conduct regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on assigned branches. Development and maintain a replacement parts inventory in a secure, safe place. Order necessary supplies (tools, parts, etc.) to have on-hand (only with prior written purchase authorization following YMCA purchasing policy) Complete and maintain necessary reports (i.e. repair/maintenance logbook) for each branch/facility. Assist with the development of an annual exercise equipment maintenance budget. Conduct periodic staff trainings on preventive maintenance procedures. If outside contractors are required, analyze and prepare proposal for approval. Coordinate with approved contractors for approved projects, as assigned. Responsible for following the child abuse and neglect reporting process including completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form, calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate Supervisor, Branch Executive, Risk Management and Human Resources Department (s). All employees of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland are mandated reporters for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect. QUALIFICATIONS: Education Vocational training preferred Experience: 5-7 years’ experience in commercial building maintenance, facilities technician or journeymen Substantial experience in carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, general building systems and related areas. Experience reading and interpreting engineered blueprints. Experience with using Microsoft Office Programs. Certification(s): CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 90 days of hire. YMCA Maintenance Technician or equivalent certification. Technical Skills and Knowledge:

Ability to read and write and understand written and verbal instructions. Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel and bend for long periods of time. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50-100lbs. lifting requirement of the position may be greater depending on the particular job to be performed. Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. May be required to work outside and on occasion may encounter inclement weather. Ability to work in a moderate to noisy work environment.
