Job Summary Program and operate CMM coordinate measuring machines including Leica with scanning technology and other portable CMMs using Polyworks software. Approve the start of production through dimensional measurement of sample parts.

Essential Functions

Develop, qualify, and maintain CMM programs.

Inspect and approve first piece at start of production.

Inspect and approve final inspections prior to delivery.

Read blueprints to determine specifications and tolerances for a variety of milled and fabricated weldments.

Ensure that containment activities take place when discrepancies are identified.

Work with Production leads to relay and interpret inspection findings.

Review and refine data collection requirements according to customer drawings, models, work orders, purchase orders, sketches and PPAP requirements.

Participate in the corrective action and preventive action processes.

Participate in Gage R & R Studies.

Utilize a wide variety of inspection tools to complete dimensional reports.

Minimum Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing):

Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram format.

Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Demonstrate displayed accuracy of work produced, meeting company standards, and requiring little to no rework.

Search out new tasks and expand ability to perform assigned tasks without direct supervision.

Punctuality and attendance.

Willingness and cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors; ability to accept constructive criticism.

Follow quality environmental policies and have knowledge of AS9100 and IS14001.

Follow safety procedures, security protocol, and wear proper PPE.

Education

High School Diploma and 3‑5 years of related experience.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

Three to five years related experience.

GD&T experience for print reading.

Basic caliper, micrometer, and bore gauge knowledge.

Background Prerequisites Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO14001.

Working Conditions And Physical Demands

Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

May occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
