Job Description
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, whether they are visiting for routine care or critical diagnostic needs. The PSR II collects high-quality blood samples, prepares specimens for laboratory testing, and ensures all procedures are followed accurately and safely. This role involves direct patient interaction and requires the ability to create an atmosphere of trust, explain procedures, and perform blood draws skillfully and professionally. Assignments may include working in a doctor’s office, a patient service center, or other locations as needed. Responsibilities
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor. Maintain a safe and professional environment. Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing in accordance with established procedures. Verify patient demographic information and obtain required signatures to ensure proper labeling. Maintain all required records and documentation. Promote a positive and professional image to patients, clients, and staff. Requirement/Must Have
Ability to provide accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision. Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime when needed. Adherence to company policies, safety guidelines, and dress code. Ability to make sound decisions based on established procedures. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (clean driving record if applicable). Ability to travel and cover multiple locations with minimal notice. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume environment. Strong customer focus and effective communication with supervisors, peers, and patients. Ability to embrace change and adapt quickly. Qualification and Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in some states). Experience
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Experience in a patient service center preferred. Customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred. Keyboard/data-entry experience.
