Job Summary By joining our BV Construction group, you will have the ability to develop and enhance your skills in an on‑site, hands‑on environment. You will be responsible for coordinating construction on the project, ensuring schedule, safety, cost and quality compliance with the Site Manager. This is a field assignment that requires travel.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate all on‑site subcontractor activities for compliance with the CPM schedule and enforce compliance with subcontractor requirements.

Manage site access coordination.

Implement the Project Construction Execution Plan. Supervise and mentor all superintendents, monitor their activities and provide leadership.

Monitor and report on construction productivity and schedule performance (including trends) to the Site Manager and Field Project Controls Manager.

Take actions necessary to meet project budget and schedule requirements, direct the establishment and implementation of subcontractor schedule recovery plans, and coordinate construction completion walk‑downs and hand‑over of start‑up packages to the Startup Manager, while supervising the close‑out of all punch‑list items.

Assist the Site Manager with client interface and relations.

Coordinate with the Field Material Manager to review all site‑procured materials for acceptance.

Coordinate with the Materials Manager to conduct periodic field audits verifying proper storage of owner‑supplied equipment on a random basis.

Review and approve T&M construction contractor equipment and coordinate shared use of this equipment.

Participate in the monthly contractor management meeting; conduct the meetings if the Project Field Manager is unavailable.

Conduct weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors and manage weekly schedule and commodity installation status to the Field Project Controls Manager.

Monitor all extra work authorization requests, backcharges, and supplier and subcontractor progress/final payment requests for acceptance, and provide timely tracking information to Project Controls to support the change‑management system.

Adhere to safety, quality, ethical standards, lessons learned, and performance‑management programs in accordance with Division Policies, Standards, Guides, and Contractual commitments.

Manage timely responses to contractor Requests for Information (RFI) and complete the construction punch‑list.

Act as the safety representative on site in the absence of the regular safety supervisor; possess general knowledge of all disciplines of construction and stand in for each lead discipline.

Resolve safety and quality issues with the safety and quality managers, with further disputes deferred to the Site Manager.

Stand in for the Site Manager in his absence, understand major commercial and deliverable terms of the construction subcontracts, and manage within these terms.

Monitor and control overtime for subordinates and subcontractors, write the construction portion of the client and construction monthly report, and coordinate with Field Engineers or home‑office engineers on engineering deliverables.

Manage construction manufacturer's service technicians and timesheet tracking, and identify and assess improvement opportunities to add value.

Champion continuous improvement efforts, assess and support the change‑management effects related to improvements, and proactively support, encourage, and facilitate staff to engage in continuous improvement activities.

Supervise superintendents.

Adhere to safety and quality standards applicable to duties and accountabilities.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of construction technology (Simple Cycle, Combined Cycle, Circulating Fluidized Bed, Nuclear). Knowledge of EPC industry, constructability knowledge, project budget process and tools, department budget process and tools, project controls, risk assessment/management, administrative policies and procedures. Understands Construction Project Management Systems, conceptual planning ability, conflict management skills, leadership ability (team building, coaching, mentoring, change management, advising), multi‑tasking ability (prioritize, organize, schedule work), presentation skills, problem solving skills (identify, analyze, research, evaluate, resolve), project management skills, communication and meeting skills, time reporting systems, expense reporting policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or a related field preferred, or relevant field experience.

14+ years of construction supervisory experience required, with at least 3 years of previous construction manager experience.

OSHA Training.

All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor‑vehicle records search, compliance with applicable laws).

Requires working in very hot (above 90 °F) or very cold (below 32 °F) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc.

Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.

Work around hazardous equipment.
