Immigration Paralegal – Removal Defense & Family-Based Immigration

Role Description Strasser Asatrian, LLC is seeking a
full-time, on-site Immigration Paralegal
to join our team in
Ridgewood, NJ . This role is essential in supporting attorneys who handle
removal defense
and
family-based immigration matters , including but not limited to:
Immigration court filings
(Motions to Change Venue, Motions to Reopen, and other EOIR submissions)
Asylum applications
(Form I-589 and supporting evidence gathering)
Cancellation of removal
applications and related relief
Family-based petitions
(I-130, I-485, I-864, DS-260)
Waivers
(I-601, I-601A, I-212)
Adjustment of status and consular processing
Case management and deadline tracking
Key Responsibilities
Draft, prepare, and file immigration court motions, appeals, and applications with USCIS and EOIR
Organize and compile supporting evidence, country conditions, and legal arguments for asylum and cancellation of removal cases
Communicate with clients to gather documents and provide case updates
Maintain accurate case records and track deadlines using case management software
Conduct legal research and assist attorneys with hearing and interview preparation
Liaise with government agencies (EOIR, USCIS, NVC) to follow up on case statuses
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of
immigration law , particularly
removal defense and family-based petitions
Experience preparing and filing
Motions to Reopen, Change of Venue, and EOIR applications
preferred
Proficiency in preparing
I-130, I-485, I-864, DS-260, asylum applications, and waivers
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Strong
organizational and time management skills
Effective
written and verbal communication skills
with attorneys, clients, and agencies
Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Law, or related field (preferred but not required)
Prior experience in an
immigration law firm
or similar legal setting is a plus
Bilingual skills (Spanish required)
