Custodian, Housing Office
Monday-Friday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (40 hours per week). Full‑time position with employee benefits.
Responsibilities
Perform custodial duties in residential apartments to create a clean and safe environment for students.
Clean bathroom fixtures, toilets/urinals, sinks, mirrors, floors, partitions, windowsills, stairwells, handrails, dust baseboards, and remove cobwebs.
Sweep, dust mop, wet mop, scrub/buff floors; strip and wax floors/extract carpets as needed.
Change light bulbs; move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools as needed.
Report safety concerns to immediate supervisor; complete work orders; maintain custodial supplies.
Assist in preparation and clean up for housing guests such as camp and conference attendees.
Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
Qualifications
Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions.
Make routine decisions independently; work well with others; take direction and sustain long periods of light to moderately heavy physical activity.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of custodial equipment, operation and safety.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe use.
