Overview
Primoris Heavy Civil is hiring for
LOCAL Skilled Road Laborers
to join our team at the LA-1 Bridge project in
Golden Meadow, Louisiana . In this role, you’ll perform a variety of hands-on tasks including lifting, moving materials, and working outdoors in all weather conditions. If you’re dependable, hardworking, and eager to learn, we want you on our crew! Job Description
Perform a variety of manual duties, usually working in a utility capacity by transferring from one project to another or from one task to another, where demands require assistance of workmen with varied experience and ability to work without close supervision. Responsibilities
Practice safety rules. Follow verbal and written instructions. Safe use of hand & power tools. Report to and assist immediate supervisor. Perform quality work as determined by project specifications. Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift. Must work well as part of a team. Direct other laborers in duties as required and participate in a concrete paving crew to ensure correct grade. Occasionally use small power tools and may work as lead man in a labor crew as needed. Exercise independent judgment to plan routine work and expedite duties as directed. Other related duties as required. Qualifications
Some industrial/construction/general labor experience. Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation. New Hire Orientation Quiz. Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to health or safety. Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.). Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.). Physical Requirements
Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy. Must be able to pass pre-employment physical examination if required. Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc. Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights and in confined spaces. Able to lift and carry 50 lbs. of tools/materials (request assistance for heavier items). Must be able to stand or walk for long periods and work extended hours on uneven surfaces. Must be clean shaven and able to wear respirator and PPE when required. Work Environment
Location: Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground, obstructed pathways, work performed at low/high elevations, confined spaces Climatic/Environmental Conditions: predominantly outdoor, may be exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, rain Noise levels from tools, machinery, equipment; potential exposure to chemical substances Benefits
