Related is seeking a dedicated and service-oriented Assistant Resident Manager to join our team at Willets Point, one of New York City’s most dynamic new communities. As part of Related’s renowned Residential team, this role supports the Resident Manager in ensuring the seamless daily operations of the property — upholding the highest standards of building maintenance, staff performance, and resident satisfaction.
The Assistant Resident Manager plays a key leadership role in supervising building staff, maintaining impeccable property conditions, and ensuring every resident interaction reflects Related’s “Expect More at Home” service philosophy. From apartment turnovers and common area upkeep to vendor coordination, this position is essential in delivering the level of excellence that defines the Related brand.

Duties and Responsibilities The Assistant Resident Manager, under the direction of the Resident Manager, is directly responsible for Staff Supervision, Building Operations, and Miscellaneous duties, as necessary.
Staff Supervision
Responsible for the direction and supervision of the maintenance employees.
Reviews and adds supervisory observations to the employees’ performance self-evaluations.
Assists with maintaining payroll and attendance documentation, in accordance with instructions from HR.
Seeks approval for staff overtime, vacations, shift changes, temporary placements/end of assignments, as necessary.
Assists with on‑site training of staff.
Assures that the staff is fully versed in the functions and standards of the job to ensure their effectiveness on the job, especially when they are on‑call.
Participates in daily meetings with staff.
Building Operations
Responsible for identifying areas of the building in need of maintenance and repairs.
Oversees apartment turnovers and ensures all units that are impeccably clean, mechanically in good working order and properly painted prior to the resident’s move‑in.
Required to review the entire apartment checklist with the resident, provide instructions for the use of all facilities and appliances, and correct any problems.
Responsible for rectifying any deficiencies noted on the resident survey responses and assures residents’ satisfaction with the service.
Responsible for ensuring that all common areas, such as laundry rooms, hallways, offices, shops, storage areas, refuse areas, and grounds, are clean at all times.
Schedules routine janitorial tasks to ensure that the above is consistently maintained.
Follows purchase order instructions established by the district/regional office. Prior approval necessary for purchases over $250.00.
If an emergency arises, calls the Resident Manager and/or Regional Vice President at the office or at home to obtain verbal authorization.
Solicits, reviews and recommends third‑party contracts when so directed by the Resident Manager or designee.
Working Conditions
On‑call every other weekend and every weekday night (or as per approved by the on‑call schedule).
Utilization of two‑way radios; communicate with office answering service.
Must be in uniform and properly groomed.
Position is located in New York.

Compensation The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
$70,000 - $78,000 + Discretionary Bonus
The actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components, including, but not limited to, the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two+ years supervisory skills.
Strong leadership, organizational and administrative skills.
Team oriented.
Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
