The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. To plan, organize, and carry out scheduled recreational activities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist with the planning and organizing of the recreation programs for assigned areas. Supervise and assign volunteers or play leaders to assist with various activities. Assist the Recreation Leader and other center staff in assessing participants' needs and interests as a basis for program planning. Assist in evaluating recreation activities or instructional courses. Assist in instructing orderly and clean areas before/after activities. Assist in the administration of the recreational programs for assigned areas. Assist with the setting up and/or breakdown of tables and chairs for various activities and rental functions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through one (1) year of experience in instruction and/or supervision of youth-related programs and/or activities.
