Be part of the newest luxury hotel in downtown LA, Conrad Los Angeles. This is the 7th Conrad Hotel in the U.S. and the 1st in California. Located in Downtown LA’s cultural corridor, Conrad Los Angeles features over 300 rooms, a world-class spa, a 16,000-square-foot rooftop pool deck, 12,000 square feet of event space, and three dynamic dining experiences—including our signature restaurant, San Laurel, all in partnership with Jose Andres Food Group. In this role as a Bellperson you will be responsible for transferring and storing luggage and responding to guest requests in the hotel's ongoing effort to deliver outstanding guest service. The ideal candidate will have prior guest service or other hospitality experience; luxury hospitality background is preferred. The candidate must be able to understand and follow written or verbal instructions and be able to deal with internal and external customers with patience, tact and diplomacy. The candidate must be able to read English sufficiently to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists. The candidate must be able to grasp, lift, and/or carry or move packages, boxes and luggage up to 50 lbs continuously throughout the shift. The candidate must be able to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions. The candidate must have sufficient manual dexterity to load and unload luggage and to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances on property. The candidate must be able to bend, stoop, walk and lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation. The candidate must be able to work a full shift (8 hours) and be flexible to work nights, weekends and holidays. What will I be doing?
Retrieves guest items from cars, buses, vans and carts. Grasp, lift, carry and/or load luggage and packages onto a bell cart to transport items throughout the hotel to designated rooms, navigating bell carts through public areas and guest room corridors. Escorts guests to accommodations, visually inspects rooms and reports any deficiencies to housekeeping. Points out room features and directory for reference. Answers guest inquiries with a positive, clear speaking voice and offers assistance with information regarding outlet hours, hotel services, directions to local attractions or function rooms, car rentals, or shuttle service. Organizes and stores luggage as necessary in designated areas. Greets guests immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome; remains calm and attentive during high activity or emergencies.
