Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need. Check product quality to ensure freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action. Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products they have ordered. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise. Report product discrepancies to the department manager. Stay current with ads and promotions. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs. Know products sold within the department and respond to customer questions with suggestions. Create a welcoming environment for customers. Follow safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and participate in safety programs. Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs. Notify management of accidents. Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment. Manage conflicts professionally. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information. Follow directions and seek help when needed. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
