We are searching for an experienced Thought Leader Liaison Lead (TLL) who is responsible for developing, managing, and engaging with Key Opinion Leaders throughout their assigned geography. The role focuses on pre-launch preparation for our PAH/PH-ILD collaboration asset. The TLL works closely with commercial colleagues, alliance partners and other staff to build advocacy with KOLs. They also manage speakers and capture KOL beliefs/insights. This field-based role requires the ability to work independently with limited direction and travel frequently. Main Responsibilities
Thought Leader Engagement
Proactively identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with PAH and PH-ILD Key Opinion Leaders. Support speaker programs, advisory roles, and congress participation. Identify, map, and manage relationships with key national associations and large treatment facilities (including mapping referral patterns, key relationships, and influencers).
Commercial Insights Gathering
Collect feedback from KOLs on unmet medical needs, treatment trends, and competitive landscape. Share feedback with marketing and sales to support brand needs. Conduct on-label discussions to communicate product messages and evidence; coordinate one-to-one exchanges between US team and KOLs for key initiatives.
Congress / Event Management / Peer-to-Peer Engagement
Attend and manage brand activity at regional and national conferences. Plan and execute engagement activities at events and conferences; support speaker contracts and training. Provide insights summaries from congresses to the marketing team; recruit potential speakers for educational events.
Cross Functional Coordination
Work cross-functionally to develop aligned external engagement strategies with medical, training, marketing, and sales teams. Coordinate with sales to align with conference/KOL engagement plans; assist Marketing with advisory boards as appropriate. Collaborate with Customer Experience to enhance TL engagement and support CX goals.
Corporate Awareness & Sustainability
Advance Chiesi’s mission and sustainability values within the TL community, aligned with B Corp and environmental priorities.
Compliance & Policy Adherence
Ensure adherence to corporate policies, regulatory standards, and expense guidelines; maintain accurate documentation and stay current with industry regulations.
Additional Information
Business travel is regularly required (50% - 65%). Willingness to work evenings and select weekends. Thorough knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and hospital credentialing processes, including credentialing for access to healthcare institutions and drug testing requirements.
Experience Required
Minimum 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry, with direct experience as a TLL in PAH. 3+ years working within Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) REQUIRED. Proven success in supporting or leading product launches; experience developing and executing HCP key strategies. Proven ability to develop KOL mapping and plans; strong KOL advocacy in targeted therapeutic areas. Self-starter with clinical acumen; autonomous and solutions-oriented. Understanding of legal and regulatory issues impacting pharmaceutical marketing and US healthcare dynamics. Existing relationships with KOLs and ability to build lasting partnerships with key accounts. Strong communication skills, executive presence, and ability to collaborate in a matrix organization. Ability to travel ~60% domestically; in-field travel a minimum of 3 days per week; weekend work as required for congresses and peer programs. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Life Sciences, or related field; clinical/scientific background is a plus. MBA or advanced degree desired but not required. Compensation
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $149,220 to $219,360. Overtime pay applies for eligible non-exempt employees. Base pay may vary based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience. This is an at-will position. What We Offer
