Job Summary / Description b13 News seeks an energetic and engaging Streaming Host to bring coverage to a digital audience across Tucson’s streaming and social media platforms. This role blends digital anchoring/hosting with producing news stories for streaming and social media. The host will work with fellow streaming hosts and the digital team to develop, plan, and execute digital streaming strategies as our audience grows annually.

Duties / Responsibilities

Go live according to the shift schedule on streaming and other digital platforms, presenting breaking news, severe weather, community events, and planned programming.

Create short‑form and long‑form video stories for our website, app, streaming platforms, and social media sites using content gathered by reporters, as well as unique content.

Anchor and produce digital‑first updates, explainers, and special reports.

Coach and collaborate with reporting staff to present their stories on streaming platforms.

Work with the newsroom to identify opportunities for unique digital video coverage.

Assist with updating the station’s website and social media with news stories as needed.

Maintain high‑quality content with accurate, error‑free reporting.

Help with the creation and implementation of digital strategies and projects that may span multiple weeks or months.

Create digital assets, including video, photo galleries, live video streams, and other multimedia, to enhance stories.

Book live interviews and segments with sources, community members, and sales clients.

Qualifications / Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience: 3–5 years in a newsroom, with streaming host experience preferred.

Experience using ENPS, VMix, Singular graphics, and internet production tools.

Ability to work a flexible schedule and as a team member.

Advanced understanding of newscast presentation.

Excellent writing and graphics skills with the ability to produce interesting and substantive content.

The “gift of gab.”

Ability to coordinate daily and long‑range segments from first contact to on‑air product.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work in a creative, fast‑paced environment.

Ability to make quick decisions without losing composure.

Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.

Previous experience with script writing and editorial work preferred.
