Overview The E&D Scaffold Builder is responsible for safely completing the installation and dismantling assignments in accordance with MDM Scaffolding safety guidelines, ANSA, federal, state, and local laws.
Main Responsibilities
Banding of equipment for loading and unloading trucks, staging and mobilization, setting scaffold bases and framing, installing and dismantling scaffolding, tying off scaffolding equipment, hoisting of equipment, and climbing ladders to access scaffolding.
Maintain awareness of installation and dismantling sequencing, project specifications and safety guidelines while performing tasks.
Maintain a safe work site, free of safety hazards by monitoring compliance with safety program requirements; document and/or communicate safety concerns to appropriate parties.
Communicate effectively with coworkers, general superintendents, and customers.
Perform administrative duties such as yard and job site inventory, safety meetings, payroll time-tracking, return tickets, change orders, time and material tickets, bill of materials, reading blueprints, and other job site paperwork as assigned accurately and neatly.
Operate company vehicles requiring an active/valid driver’s license (CDL if applicable), DOT Medical Card, DOT driver file, and meet specific drug & alcohol testing requirements.
Requirements
At least 3 years of scaffold experience in commercial or industrial markets.
Experience using forklift, hammer, pry-bar, banding tools, power tools (e.g., drill, screwdriver).
Good oral communication skills.
Present a clean and professional image.
Availability for non-traditional hours to meet project schedules.
Basic math ability.
High School diploma or equivalent (desired).
Physical Demands
Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance) of scaffolding equipment; lift up to 100 pounds to 6–7 feet for erection and dismantling.
Carry/wear harness and work belt weighing 25–50 pounds while installing and dismantling scaffolding.
Climb onto trailers or trucks and into high precarious places using ladders.
