Coatings Expert – Structural Steel
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all coating operations: surface prep, mixing, and application.
Inspect coatings for thickness, adhesion, coverage, and prep quality.
Maintain/test inspection tools (DFT gauges, adhesion testers).
Train/mentor team members in coatings and safety practices.
Track coating supply inventory and compliance records.
Enforce safety protocols for paints, solvents, and blasting equipment.
Qualifications:
5+ years in industrial coatings, painting, or surface prep (steel/marine/heavy industrial).
Knowledge of epoxies, zinc, and high-performance coatings.
NACE/SSPC certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Familiar with coating inspection tools & standards.
Forklift/overhead crane experience a plus.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Full-time, exempt.
