As a server you will help our guests on the train while creating lifelong memories! Dining on a rail car, while traveling through the Alaska wilderness is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Our servers have the chance to share in those memories with our guests while serving Alaska cuisine and locally made drinks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform a variety of high-level guest service and sales tasks.
Execute a variety of routine food preparation tasks.
Regular entry of food and beverage items into the POS (point of sales) system.
Process guest payments and prepare reports needed for accounting personnel.
Assist in the embark and disembark process of guests, handle luggage and operate internal lift for guests with limited mobility.
Answer customer, employee and management queries while upholding our high service standards.
REQUIREMENTS
Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Minimum age of 18 years required to serve alcohol in the State of Alaska.
Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Holland America-Princess
is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must have or the ability to obtain an Alaska Food Handler’s Card.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid alcohol safety card for the State of Alaska.
Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
