Base Pay Range
$80,000 / year – $120,000 / year
We are currently hiring a mid‑level Mechanical Engineer for the Building Engineering Division – Energy Infrastructure team, with offices in Syracuse, Elmira, or Ithaca, NY.
LaBella’s Energy Infrastructure team provides comprehensive energy efficiency and renewable energy consultancy, including feasibility analyses and design of mechanical systems. Our engineers are well‑versed in all aspects of building and energy system design for new construction, renovations and design‑build projects.
Responsibilities
Lead design of building HVAC systems and district energy systems.
Perform field investigations to document existing conditions.
Conduct selection and calculations for design purposes.
Assist junior engineers in developing and reviewing project drawings and documentation.
Interact directly with clients, completing analysis of design options, cost‑benefit comparisons and communicating results to aid decision‑making.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and utility requirements.
Qualifications
8–10 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
Well‑rounded experience in HVAC and hydronic system design.
Preferred experience designing geothermal or district energy systems.
Experience with Revit or AutoCAD.
New York State Professional Engineer license is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
