Contract Specialist The Senior Contract Specialist (CS) reports to the Director of Contracts and is responsible for negotiating, planning, coordinating the review, administering documents, and obtaining approvals for assigned incoming contracts performed by TerraPower in support of corporate activities and client projects, including government contracts and subcontracts. The CS implements the approved process for initiating, developing, issuing monitoring, and closing out external contracts. The CS contributes to enhancing the success of projects by limiting overall risks and liability associated with customer negotiations and contract administration, subcontract sourcing, pricing, evaluating, negotiating, and obtaining materials, equipment, and/or construction services. The CS coordinates the review of client contracts and provides negotiation support when required. The position interfaces with Procurement, when directed, to provide support for implementing subcontracting and assists with the development of corporate and supplier strategy.

Responsibilities

Perform contract management functions for assigned areas, clients, or specific TerraPower projects, which may include government contracts, subcontracts, grants, government funding opportunities, and commercial opportunities (services agreement, task orders, etc.)

Act as TerraPower's single point of interface with external government and commercial customer contract organizations for assigned projects/phases of contract development and execution.

Support business development activities for assigned projects, including the review and negotiation of the resulting agreements.

Provide monitoring of assigned executed contracts and related activities with focus on compliance, change control, and assist with quality, cost management, schedule, and performance.

Assist department leadership, which includes process and tool development and training, budget generation and control.

Interface with internal stakeholders (e.g., legal, finance) as necessary to support contract management functions.

Provide subcontract support, as required.

Key Qualifications and Skills

High‑school diploma.

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or equivalent field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, minimum fifteen years experience equivalent, in technically‑oriented contracting.

Contracting or similar business/interface role with some international experience (preferred).

Direct experience in contracting or working with engineering scope in the nuclear industry (preferred).

Relevant experience with DOE National Labs and their operations (preferred).

Technical and/or subject area background preferred and can be experience based.

Exemplary organizational and communication skills and ability to work independently in a team environment, including interface with legal, finance and other functional organizations.

Travel required: up to 20% (potential at times to support negotiations or other needed focus).

TerraPower's technology is controlled for export by various agencies of the U.S. Government. TerraPower must evaluate applicants who are foreign nationals (other than asylees, refugees, or lawful permanent residents) in accordance with U.S. Government export control requirements. To facilitate TerraPower's export control reviews, you will be asked as part of the application process to identify whether you are a U.S. Citizen or national, asylee, refugee, or lawful permanent resident of the United States. Job Details Salary Range $168,316 - $252,475. We typically place offers in the lower to middle portion of the range to maintain internal equity and allow room for growth. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual's qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
