Job Description Customs and Logistics

– Managing, securing and optimizing the inbound and outbound flow of the Fives NA companies’ products in accordance with local customs laws. Developing and implementing the logistics and customs strategy in line with the company’s and the Group’s objectives, considering costs, deadlines and quality.

International Trade Compliance

– Assisting the NA Chief Compliance Officer with maintaining the Fives NA trade compliance program in accordance with the Group directives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

Assist with defining a NA customs and logistics plan, including:

Identifying a central customs broker, initiating compliance monitoring, and optimization of resources

Supporting Fives NA subsidiaries with strategic contract reviews (during tender, RFQ, or execution phases.)

Initiating carrier framework agreements (if possible) and managing the relationship with them.

Managing digital deployment (TMS, SAP)

Support Fives NA Customs & Logistics personnel with compliance activities such as:

Interpretation of local import and export regulations

Commodity classifications

Government license or permit requirements

Entity screening

Special documentation

Assist with training of Fives NA employees (for topics such as: Incoterms, Customs, Logistics, Import/Export Regulations, Shipping Dangerous Goods) Hierarchical Responsibility

This position reports to the NA Chief Compliance Officer. Internal/External Working Relationships: Internal relations: Fives Inc. staff, Fives Headquarter functional departments, Executive Management of each NA entity and the operational staff within the Fives Inc. subsidiaries External relations: Customers, suppliers, various government authorities

Required Skills and Experience

U.S. Customs Broker License preferred.

Postgraduate level in Logistics or equivalent; or six to ten years related experience and/or training.

Basic knowledge of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico import and export control regulations.

Basic knowledge of the US Harmonized Tariff Schedule

Experience with methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the INCOTERMS 2020, rules for the use of domestic and international trade terms.

Fluent English language, French appreciated

Experience with SAP or similar ERP

Successful completion of dangerous goods training courses, per the IATA, IMDG, and DOT shipping regulations.

Able to work collaboratively with employees of all levels within the organization.

Available to travel domestically and internationally (25% of this time)
