Position Summary Performs inspections of fire protection systems in accordance with national and local code requirements. The systems include, but are not limited to, fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm and detection, fire extinguishers, and backflow prevention devices.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Inspections of wet pipe fire sprinkler systems.
Inspections of "special" fire sprinkler systems such as pre-action, dry pipe, and foam. This will include "trip" testing and re-setting of special system valves and associated devices.
Inspections and testing of fire pumps including annual full-flow functional testing.
Inspections and testing of fire alarm and detection systems.
Inspections and testing of fire extinguishers.
Completion of the NFPA report forms associated with the various systems being inspected using a handheld PC device.
Qualifications
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required
NICET Certification required
Minimum 5 years of experience in Fire Protection/Life Safety industry
Experience with fire detection systems including VESDA, FM200 and other gas extinguishing systems
Knowledge of functions associated with testing of fire alarms, access control, and security systems.
Complete knowledge of low voltage wiring, especially troubleshooting. High level of knowledge & application of National Fire Alarm Code
Thoroughly capable of reading, interpreting, and applying NFPA Code to inspection testing and maintenance of fire protection equipment.
Requirements
Able to meet all physical requirements.
Must have all required tools
Must have the ability to work on ladders and lift equipment
Must be able to distinguish primary colors
Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Perform other duties as required
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and customers
Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License and clean Department of Motor Vehicles report
Base Compensation: $25.00 to $50.00 per hour (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
